About Anchor and Sail Collective

Hi, I’m Tracy, former elementary teacher with over thirteen years in the classroom, now a homeschooling mom to two energetic boys.

For more than a decade, I taught Pre-K through Fifth Grade in public schools. I planned lessons, built classroom rhythms, and guided hundreds of children not just in academics, but in becoming capable, responsible, thoughtful humans.

Those years shaped how I see learning.

Then I became a parent, and everything sharpened.

I started asking different questions:

What actually helps kids become responsible, not just follow directions?
How do we build habits that stick when no one is watching?
What does it look like to raise children with strong character in the middle of everyday life?

That’s where Anchor & Sail Collective began to take shape.

What “Anchor & Sail” Really Means

Anchor is about grounding our children in what matters most.

It’s the steady rhythms, the daily practices, and the intentional character-building that shape who they are becoming.

This is where we focus on:

  • building character through daily life, not lectures
  • creating simple, repeatable rhythms that bring calm and consistency
  • teaching traits like responsibility, attentiveness, perseverance, and gratitude in a way that actually sticks

Sail is where learning comes alive.

It’s curiosity, exploration, and meaningful experiences layered on top of that strong foundation.

It shows up when we:

  • follow interests and wonder
  • use books, conversation, and real-life experiences to deepen learning
  • create a homeschool that feels rich, connected, and alive—not rigid or checklist-driven

Anchor gives our days stability.
Sail gives them life.

You need both.

My Approach to Homeschooling

I don’t believe in choosing between structure or freedom.

I believe in intentional rhythms that hold both.

Our days are not perfectly scheduled, but they are thoughtfully built.

We focus on what matters most:

  • strong foundational skills
  • meaningful connection
  • and intentional character formation woven into daily life

Because the goal isn’t just what our children know.

It’s who they are becoming.

What You’ll Find Here

This space brings together my experience as a teacher and my life as a homeschooling mom.

Here, you’ll find:

  • simple, realistic homeschool rhythms that actually work in real life
  • character-building resources designed for young children
  • morning basket ideas, habits, and routines that create calmer days
  • encouragement and practical guidance for homeschooling with intention

Everything I share is meant to be doable, repeatable, and grounded in real family life.

Why This Matters to Me

I’ve seen what happens, both in the classroom and at home, when children are given:

  • clear expectations
  • consistent rhythms
  • and intentional guidance in who they are becoming

They grow in confidence.
They take ownership.
They begin to see themselves differently.

Not because we told them to—but because we gave them the space and structure to become it.

Welcome

Anchor & Sail Collective is for families who want to:

  • homeschool with purpose and clarity

  • create days that feel calm, connected, and meaningful

We don’t just teach subjects here.

We shape who our kids are becoming-one small, intentional step at a time.

Stay as long as you’d like.
We’re building something steady and meaningful here.

I’m Tracy

Hi, I’m Tracy.
I’m a former classroom teacher turned homeschooling mom, helping families create calm, intentional days rooted in strong rhythms, meaningful learning, and purposeful living.

At Anchor & Sail Collective, I share a thoughtful approach to homeschooling, one that blends structure and curiosity, so your days feel both grounded and alive.

You’ll find simple rhythms, practical ideas, and guidance for everything from planning your year to building your morning basket to bringing intention into everyday moments, like reading, cooking, and connection.

Because homeschooling isn’t just about what our children learn.
It’s about how we shape their days, and who they’re becoming along the way.

If you’re looking to homeschool with more clarity, connection, and purpose, you’re in the right place.
